
Honour for David Simon
Her majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands has honoured David Simon with the "Order of Oranje Nassau" (Dutch equivalent of the MBE) at the occasion of her birthday on April 30th 1999.
David Simon, the general-secretary of the NVD, organiser of many big DanceSport events World and European-Championships, Cups, Trophy's and Festivals, many Dutch Amateur- and Professional Championships as well of many International Dance-teachers congresses.
David Simon is already for 30 years the General-secretary of the NVD, Dutch Dance teachers Association as well as for many years a Presidium-member of the NADB Dutch Amateur DanceSport association, also he was for many years an examiner in the Dutch FDO Dance Teachers Association.
Also he was, with the late Gerd Hadrich and Paul Libert, the founder of the than so called ICBD Social Dance Branch, now the official World Dance and DanceSport Council-social dance committee. David was for 8 years the vice-chairman of the branch.
The Dutch Queen also honours David Simon for his work in the social and religious field in the Netherlands. He holds a lot of posts in several organisations. For David Simon specially and the Dutch dancing world in general this honour is a fantastic achievement and David is very proud to be now a KNIGHT in the Order of Orange Nassau.
